ABOUT MIKE KEEGAN

Mike Keegan is a freelance horn player in the Milwaukee area. As the Founder, Executive, Musical, and Artistic Director of Eastwinds Chamber Ensemble, Mike promotes new music for horn, solo and chamber as a frequent recitalist. He currently performs with St. Mark’s Brass, as an active studio musician, and has performed with the Milwaukee Choirsters, Ozaukee Chorus, Chant Claire Choir, Prata Duo, Hornucopia Horn Quartet, and other area bands and orchestras. Solo appearances include the Philharmonia Orchestra of Racine and International Horn Competition of America as well as several concert series to include the First Fridays at Five, Grace Lutheran Church, Noon Time Series, St. John Cathedral, Concert Series at St. Casimir, all in Milwaukee, and Four O’Clock Concert Series, First Congregational Church, Wauwatosa. Mike was an Artist-In-Residence at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Milwaukee. He is a member of Delta Omicron, MacDowell Club of Milwaukee, International Horn Society, and the American Guild of Organists, Milwaukee Chapter, where he served as Secretary. Mike also plays organ for different congregations in the Milwaukee area, mainly for the East Side Catholic Parishes, and the former Summerfield United Methodist Church in Milwaukee. As an organist performer, Mike presents occasional solo concerts at different churches in the Milwaukee area. Past and present performances include the Concert Series at St. Casimir, Concerts on Cramer at Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, Milwaukee, Music on the Hill, Port Washington, and other congregations. As a composer, Mike self-publishes his own compositions, arrangements, and transcriptions of other composers’ works through Eastwinds Music, his own music publishing business, and is also published by Imagine Music. In addition to his musical activities, Mike is a member of the National Stuttering Association.

CORGUE GOES TO BOSTON – Mike Keegan will be participating in the Concert Series at King’s Chapel on March 24th performing organ works by various composers and two solo horn works composed for him by Karen Beaumont and Jim Stephenson, one of his original compositions.
March 22nd – University Lutheran Church, Cambridge. Works by Mike Keegan, Elyse Kahler, Karen Beaumont, Handel, and other composers. Mike will perform both horn and organ on this concert, to be joined by Chris Porter, Piano, Ann Howarth, Horn, and Celine Ferro and Todd Brunel, Clarinet.
CORGUE PERFORMS AT THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. JOHN EVANGELIST – Mike Keegan will perform works for both horn and organ on this concert May 27th at 12:15 P.M. Works by Karen Beaumont and other composers will be programmed.
